Kirby Foods started as a family business in 1969 when Jerry Scribner purchased his first grocery store on Kirby Ave. in Champaign, Illinois. Through the years, Kirby Foods has grown to include 13 conventional stores and 3 Save A Lot stores in Illinois and Indiana. To ensure a continuation of the company’s strong history, Kirby Foods became 100% employee owned in 2009.
